About This Site

Why we built this tool

Because the SSA website is confusing, and too many families miss out on benefits their children are entitled to.

Our mission

The Social Security Administration's SSI program provides critical financial support to children with disabilities β€” up to $967 per month in 2026, plus automatic Medicaid in most states. Yet a significant portion of families who qualify for these benefits never apply, often because the process seems confusing, the eligibility rules are hard to understand, or parents simply don't know where to start.

DoesMyChildQualifySSI.com exists to close that gap. We built a simple, jargon-free eligibility checker that walks parents through the eight key SSI criteria in plain English β€” so they can get a clear answer in about two minutes, without needing to navigate complex government websites or wait on hold with the SSA to find out if it's even worth applying.

πŸ’‘ This tool is completely free. We never charge for access, never require an account, and never share your information with third parties.

What this site does β€” and doesn't do

βœ…
What we do

Provide a free eligibility estimate based on the 2026 SSA deeming rules. Explain the SSI process in plain language. Help families understand their options and next steps.

⚠️
What we don't do

We do not provide legal advice. We are not affiliated with the SSA. Our tool provides an estimate β€” only the SSA can make an official eligibility determination.

The information on this site is based on publicly available 2026 Social Security Administration guidelines. We update our content annually as SSA adjusts benefit rates and income thresholds. However, SSI rules are complex and individual circumstances vary β€” always confirm eligibility directly with the SSA or a qualified disability attorney.

How the eligibility checker works

Our checker walks you through the eight main factors the SSA evaluates for child SSI eligibility:

We apply the SSA's 2026 "deeming" formula to your income β€” the same calculation the SSA uses β€” to estimate whether your child would likely qualify and, if so, what the approximate monthly benefit might be.

πŸ“‹ Important: Our tool provides an estimate, not a guarantee. The SSA considers many additional factors during a full application review, including detailed medical records, functional assessments, and documentation that our tool cannot replicate. Always apply and let the SSA make the official determination β€” many families are surprised by the outcome.

About the information on this site

We are not lawyers and this site does not constitute legal advice. If your child's situation is complex β€” particularly if you've been denied previously or have unusual income/asset circumstances β€” consider consulting a disability attorney or accredited claims representative. Many work on contingency and charge no fees unless your child's benefits are approved.
